SCC Jazz Band Presents
“Swingin’ On the Sunny Side”
The SCC Jazz Band, the "Sound of Swing in the Sandhills" for over 58 years, will hold a concert on Monday, June 15, 2026. As a special bonus for the evening, the New Horizons Band in the Pines Swing Band, led by our own Mollie Wilson, will start off the concert at 6:00 pm with the SCC Jazz Band performing from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The concert will be held in BPAC's Owens Auditorium, on campus at Sandhills Community College, 3395 Airport Rd., Pinehurst.
Join the SCC Jazz Band for a concert with jazz and swing favorites you are sure to know including "Summertime", "On the Sunny Side of the Street", "Kokomo", "Fly Me to the Moon", "Willow Weep for Me", "Days of Wine and Roses", and "Moonlight Serenade".
The SCC Jazz Band is led by Dr. Larry Arnold, Professor Emeritus at UNC Pembroke and long time Aberdeen resident. Among the talented local musicians who you may know are Rev. Dr. Paul Murphy of Southern Pines, Larry Wilson who has been with the Band for over 50 years, Rob Hill, Music Director at Union Pines High School and former director of the Jazz Band, Chris Dunn, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Moore County, and Robert Dyer, owner of AMS Heating and Air Conditioning company.
SCC Jazz Band concerts are free events, open to the public. Tickets are required. Get your free tickets online at ticketmesandhills.com.
BPAC offers concessions for purchase including wine, beer, soda, and snacks. No outside food or drink is permitted.
